WELCOME TO THE MOSCOW COMICS FESTIVAL ÇCOMMISSIA-2006Č!

Moscow Comics Festival ÇComMissia-2006Č (www.kommissia.ru) is proud to invite you to take part in the competition (www.kommissia.ru/live/how.asp).

You can present your work from February 2006 till the begining of April 2006. If you want to take part, appear in the ÇComMissia-2006Č catalogue and participate in the exhibition (27.04.2006 - 14.05.2006 in the MAR'S Gallery) - please prepare your works in advance. Large projects - in the album format (32 pages and more) will be judged by the jury separately in printed form. This won't prevent you from showing 4 pages from your project on the public competition.

The works for the ÇComMissia-2006Č competition (www.kommissia.ru/live/how.asp) are accepted in the following nominations:

1. Graphical story (pictured stories, comics, manga etc.). Any pictured stories from 1 to 4 pages are accepted.

2. Photo(graphical) story. Any photo-comics from 1 to 4 pages can take part.

3. Flash. Any works (comics and cartoons) realized using Macromedia Flash technology of maximum 1 Mb size.

The ÇGraphical storyČ (pictured stories, comics, manga etc.) and ÇPhoto(graphical) storyČ nominations.

Conditions of works reception for the ÇGraphical storyČ and ÇPhoto(graphical) storyČ nominations of the ÇComMissia-2006Č competition:

1. Only comics are accepted. Consecution of pictures making one connected story is considered to be comics. (Single or separate pictures, sketches, posters etc. are not accepted).

2. One can present maximum 4 pages for each nomination. Less is alowed, more is not! It's up to you to decide what your works will be like. It can be several short comics or a part of one big story - it is not important. The maximum amount of pages from one participant is 4. If you decide to take part in another nomination too the rules stay the same - 4 pages is the maximum. So, you can present 4 pages for each nomination. If your comics is larger than 4 pages you have to choose any 4 consecutive pages from it and give them a comment for example: Ç...these are the first / middle / last 4 pages of the 48 pages comics. This is a story about... You can see the full story here...Č etc.

3. Any author can take part in the competition no matter is he is professional or a beginner. The comics can be in any style.

4. Comics which took part in the previous competitions of the Moscow Comics Festival are not accepted.

5. The language of the works. If the language of your work is different from russian you have to provide your work with a translation otherwise the story and the scenario will not be judged and only the drawings will be considered.

6. Attention! The works are accepted till the begining of April 2006!

7. Publishing of works in the ÇComMissia-2006Č catalogue. The organization committee reserves to inself the right to choose at it's own discretion the works to be published in the ÇComMissia-2006Č catalogue.

8. Competition works exhibition. The organization committee reserves to inself the right to choose at it's own discretion the works to take part in the exhibition.

9. Publishing of works in the press. The organization committee reserves to inself the right for the non-profit-making publication in the press of the presented works (or their parts) in an effort to advance the Festival.

10. The organization committee is not obliged to give comments about it's choise.

11. Removing the works from the ÇComMissia-2006Č competition.

The organization committee reserves to inself the right to remove any work from the competition programme if:

- the are doubts about the author of the work

- if the author is caught in voice manipulation or in false voices increasing

- if the work does not correspond to the technical requirements of the ÇComMissia-2006Č competition.

Technical requirements:

1. One can present maximum 4 pages for each nomination. Less is allowed, more is not!

2. Each page must be: format A4, resolution 300 dpi, file type JPG (compression 8), colour scheme RGB.

3. The file names must be written with english letters.

4. The file names MUST NOT contain space, special symbols like # ? * and etc.

For example you are presenting a 4 pages comics entitled ÇThe Brandnew StoryČ.

The ÇFlashČ nomination.

In connection with our aspiration for advance the Moscow Comics Festival to the ÇPictured stories Festival: comics and animationČ we decidec to remove stylistic limitations in the last years ÇFlash-comicsČ nomination and to upgrade this nomination to ÇFlashČ. Therefore any works (comics and cartoons) realized using Macromedia Flash technology of maximum 1 Mb size are accepted for the ÇComMissia-2006Č competition. The most interesting works will take part in the exhibition! For that a special monitor will be installed in the MAR'S Gallery. And, of course, the best of the works will be awarded.

Conditions of works reception for the ÇFlashČ nomination of the ÇComMissia-2006Č competition:

1. One can present only 1 (one) work for this nomination. Less is alowed, more is not!

2. Any author can take part in the competition no matter is he is professional or a beginner. The comics can be in any style.

3. Comics which took part in the previous competitions of the Moscow Comics Festival are not accepted.

4. The language of the works.

Voting for the works.

You can leave your comments on the nominees, tell your friends to vote for your comics and vote yourself for the others by going to this page http://www.kommissia.ru/live/konkurs.asp . Here you will find a list of nominations:

1. Graphical story (pictured stories, comics, manga etc.).

2. Photo(graphical) story.

3. Flash.

Choose the nomination you want and you will be taken to the page with the competition works. First you have to click on a small example picture in the list of nominees. Then, when you'll see the comics, you can leave a message for the other people to read (at the bottom of the page). The fields that are marked with * are obligatory to be filled in. The fields are the following (from top to bottom):

To vote for it you must see all the pages of the comics chosen by you. Press Ç?????????Č (ÇnextČ) link in the bottom right corner to go forward and Ç??????????Č (ÇpreviousČ) link in the bottom left corner to go back; both links are just under the picture. When you are finished looking at the work you'll see a new Ç??????????Č (ÇVoteČ) link appear under the last picture. If you click on it you will get a page where you can vote:
